FED: Health services at risk over UMP-AMA
The Australian Medical Association says the move by medical insurer UMP to appointa provisional liquidator means essential services are now at risk.
AMA president KERRYN PHELPS says the situation was inevitable and the health systemnow faces a potential catastrophe without a speedy and coordinated government response.
Dr PHELPS says services will suffer from today -- unless there's a rapid and effectiveresponse from the federal government.
