Fernando Cavenaghi and Fernando each scored to give 10-man Bordeaux a 2-1 win over Le Mans on Saturday to keep the pressure on leader Lyon in the French league.
Cavenaghi gave Bordeaux the lead in the 13th, chipping the ball over goalkeeper Yohann Pele, before Fernando made it 2-0 with a powerful strike under the crossbar in the 21st.
Le Mans pulled one back in the 35th through Martin Douillard, but couldn't capitalize on Bordeaux defender Franck Jurietti being sent off in the 44th for slapping Douillard in the face.
Le Mans was also down to 10 men in the 74th after Gregory Cerdan tripped Brazilian midfielder Geraldo Wendel.
